Primo Vercilli, Giovanna Ruo Berchera e Paolo Massobrio

Maramangio: An editorial success!

Say the word “diet” and you immediately imagine: scanty portions, exhaustion,
sacrifices, insipidness.   Nothing could be further from the truth!  Now the golden rule to lose weight is  “flavour awareness”.
No food is taboo; in fact, everything must be sampled, savoured, perhaps shared
with others at the table.  The aim is to learn to really appreciate good food.

The name is taken from the word “Maramaldo”, (dastard), which evokes the continual harm we knowingly do to our organism by eating the wrong kind of food.
Paolo Massobrio’s knowledge of flavour (after years of working with families)
has resulted in a book which simplifies dieting – No useless sacrifices, but instead
facing the facts - we are tempted daily by the wonderful Italian cuisine

And so how is the book set out?

Dr Primo Vercilli tries to suggest a diet plan which ensures flavour and  doesn’t
harm our organism.
After various chapters dealing with the problem of obesity and the strategy to fight it, the Vercilli  method for a correct nutritional education is presented.  The book contains about 70 recipes using Italian agricultural produce, offering a well-balanced, nutritional diet.  The initial plan is made up of 35 meals prepared using interesting recipes with exciting combinations of foodstuffs (created by Head Chef,  Giovanna Ruo Berchera).
In every chapter the dietician’s instructions are completed with   a “question-
answer” role-play involving the gastronomic critic Paolo Massobrio.  He pretends to be a would-be slimmer and asks the most common questions on the topic.
